My favourite DepicT! Short

 This DepicT short called 'The End' really stood out to me as one of the best that I'd seen. It highly interested me as the entire short is shot in one location, with one character, whilst managing to maintain the audience's attention with a humorous story line. The very simple concept is achieved with diegetic sound, and without this the entire story line wouldn't actually exist. The whole short is based upon sound and lighting to create the illusion that every time he moves the globe it triggers the movement of the entire planet, resulting in very dim lighting to represent night, and diegetic synchronous sound of cars crashing and people screaming implies to the viewer that because nobody can see, everything is going wrong.
A short film such as this shows that extensive amounts of props, actors and money is not needed to create a humourous and witty production, which is the main factor of why it appealed to me.

Strength This particular picture was taken to connote strength. A medium shot captured from a low angle, this picture creates the feeling that the audience is looking up at the subject, making him seem strong and almost as though he has power over them. Three point high key lighting has been used to highlight and brighten each aspect of the subjects face, emphasising his implied strength. Another way his strength has been emphasised is by the positioning of his head (tilted upwards, looking into the distance, slight smile) and also his arm, held on his chest to show his physical strength. Evaluation of Continuity Exercise

For this project, in groups we had to plan, film and edit a short film about a package exchanging possession, using a maximum of twenty shots. After discussion, my group decided that the package should be an SD card containing 'secret information', and that the exchange in possession should be from a theft. We played with the idea of making it seem humorous, maybe having a funny ending that the SD card actually contained nothing at all, but we couldn't achieve that in less than 20 shots.  The criteria required; At least two close--ups At least one extreme close-up At least two matches on action At least one eye line match At least one point of view shot A shot reverse shot sequence One camera movement  Some establishing and re-establishing shots At least one non cut transition I think we met the criteria as well as we possibly could given the amount of shots that we were allowed.  Personally I enjoyed the entire process, as I

Ownership concepts Public Service Broadcasting - often referred to as PSB, this refers to broadcasting intended for public benefit. OFCOM requirements state that certain television/radio broadcasters such as the BBC fulfill parts of the requirements as part of their licence.
